Our Story
The Badri & Chitra Maskey Foundation was born out of the vision, passion, and lifelong dedication of Mr. Badri Bahadur Maskey and Mrs. Chitra Maskey. Together, they have committed their lives to empowering communities, improving public health, and advancing education.
Mr. Badri Bahadur Maskey’s journey began over 50 years ago when he stepped into the field of public health as a Surveillance Supervisor for the National Malaria Eradication Organization (NMEO). Over the years, he worked in various roles, including Malaria Inspector, Senior Health Technician, and as a private practitioner in general medicine. His contributions extended beyond public health, as he served as Head Teacher at Oyak Primary School and Director of the Gorkha Health Science Academy, where he nurtured young minds and future leaders.
Beyond his professional career, Mr. Maskey has been a pillar of service through his active involvement in Lionism. Holding positions such as President, Zone Chairman, and Senior Advisor within the Lions Club International, he championed numerous community-focused initiatives. His leadership in areas like environmental conservation, drinking water projects, and healthcare support reflects his unwavering commitment to building a better society.
Mrs. Chitra Maskey has been a steadfast partner in his journey, contributing her strength and wisdom to support their shared vision. Her presence has been instrumental in shaping the foundation’s values and driving its mission to create meaningful change.

A Message from Mr. Badri Bahadur Maskey

Over the course of my life, I have had the privilege of working directly with communities, understanding their struggles, and contributing to solutions that bring hope and change. From my early days as a health technician combating malaria in remote regions to leading education and public health initiatives, I have seen firsthand the profound impact that collective efforts can achieve.
The Badri & Chitra Maskey Foundation was established to formalize this lifelong commitment to service. It reflects not only my experiences but also the unwavering support and contributions of my wife, Mrs. Chitra Maskey, whose compassion and vision have been instrumental in shaping this journey.
One of the most memorable milestones in my life was leading projects to provide clean drinking water in underserved areas. Witnessing the joy of children and families accessing safe water for the first time reaffirmed my belief in the power of small yet meaningful actions. Similarly, our efforts to support students with scholarships and resources have shown how education can transform not just individuals but entire communities.
At the foundation, we aim to continue these efforts on a larger scale—bridging gaps in healthcare, education, and sustainable development. This is not a task we can accomplish alone; it requires the collective strength of people who believe in making a difference.
